The month of October, till the month of February is the summer season in South Africa. While Europe and America are 'Wintered up', we here have loads of sun and rain with hailstones, all at the same time it is a little overwhelming.
Most mornings, its already pretty hot and I  take long walks, on the street that is at the corner of my own street.

I enjoy that walk because of all the tall pine trees, and all I see is pine cones everywhere. I always tell myself, I will pick some next time and paint some fun summer colors.

Maybe use them as decor, in my patio or my
sitting room but I always forget to go with a bag.

I remembered last Friday and went with a bag and picked as much as I could carry, bearing in mind it was a long walk back home.

Anyway I got my pine cones, cleaned them up with a small painters brush, then I brushed thinner all over each cleaned pine cone.
This I did to prevent insects or molding. I then applied white acrylic paint, as the base paint and when they were dry painted them the colors I wanted.

I chose colors, that reflect the mixed weather we are in right now. And oh! its raining but the sun is up how amazing......ENJOY!

What can we do, with empty bottles?
What kind of bottles, do we find laying around our homes, the areas we reside in and our work place.

Colours 'Unity in diversity'; abstract art;miabo enyadike
what can we do with these bottles after use?
Throw them away or maybe, turn them into valuable pieces, making them useful again.

At any given time,we have bottles lying around our homes and we have cause to throw them away.

What if you don't throw them away,
or don't let them, become part of the refuse or garbage.

Some people will argue, that they clog or clutter and litter your space.
That they have become part of the reason, why our environment has become endangered.

Now, this does not sound attractive, so what can we do about them? or
what can we do with them?
How can used bottles, enhance our lives financially or otherwise?.

The reality is they can!.
1.They could be turned into functional pieces like decor pieces, flower vases, accessories.

They could be made over, into stylish aesthetic pieces, that add to collectibles.

And maybe, the missing link to a fabulous living space.

2.A recycling business could be borne out of bottles, basically collecting empty bottles from eateries, homes, business premises for free or for a token fee.

And reselling to businesses who need these bottles.

3.As an Artist,I run an art studio that incorporates bottles into it's design aesthetics. SAATCHIART.COM/ARTMIABO  SHOP HERE

It is different for me and truly rewarding, because the possibilities are endless.

4. For the party planners and decorators, old jam jars, mini plain bottles are so hot now. They can

turn a space into something romantic and classic, yet sophisticated at the same time when used wisely.

So welcome to my amazing world, of empty bottles......

Abstract Art Collage; by miabo enyadike

I have been away and only just returned to Johannesburg,I really could not do much blogging because my schedule was really tight on the project I was commissioned to do.

When I returned back to Joburg where I reside, one thing that struck me the most was the lonely feeling that engulfed me when I stepped into my work/art studio.

It felt abandoned and it made me wonder what work I could have done and accomplished in this studio the six weeks I was away in Lagos it was a bit depressing.

My need to do something about that feeling led to painting on a few shirts, which brings me to the subject at hand, recycling of shirts.

I have done quite a few of these paintings on shirts before, those shirts were kind of different because they where random shirts I picked at charity stores then.

These ones I have turned into Abstract Art are very personal and close to home, they are my husbands favorite shirts! all five of them.

These shirts were worn to there deaths by my husband but for the sake of Art intervention, they would still be worn today.

I decided enough of these shirts already! I think is time to kind of Immortalize them forever where they can be seen but not worn!

So with old carton boards as the base for the shirts, glue, brush and Acrylic paint I changed the course of history for these shirts and made them Art......?

I always ask myself, this question anytime I start collecting stuff.

I collect newspapers and old clipboards to create Art.

Art and Craft by Miabo Enyadike

What are you collecting? and Why are you collecting? because we don't need it or have the space, for it I always say to myself.

I collect bottles, jars and old vases for Art and craft purposes

Paper Crafts Supplies

I always overrule myself and just keep collecting anything, that fascinates me but with a purpose.

I collect shopping bags and turn them to art.

For it to be fun, there has to be a purpose and a vision, attached to a particular object or stuff that I collect.

I collect old mini mannequins and turn them around.

I love to collect every day Items, that are discarded or sold, in hospice or charity stores.

I collect discarded plywood and create art.

I am always excited to create Art and Craft from items I collect for the purposes of Art.

I collect old shirts and create paintings on them.

I collect electric wire spool and re-purpose them to tables and bookshelves

So I don't randomly pick or collect stuff,

I collect used paint buckets and re-purpose them, into storage seats and side stools.

Painting Supplies

There is a thought process period. It has to be useful, must have an awesome aesthetic
 appeal and value.

I collect fabric cutoffs and create Art and Craft with it.

At the end of it all, it is called Art or Craft and should inspire.....

I collect postcards and create lasting memories, of the things and places I love.

So what are you collecting and why?.........Enjoy.
