ART EXHIBITION TO INSPIRE

                                          INSPIRE

These past few weeks, had me preparing and getting ready for one of my most ambitious and revealing Solo exhibitions yet, as an abstract Artist, who creates Art on any material availed to me.
I say ambitious, because I was going to 'Show and tell' to an Art crowd, that is new to my kind of free spirited way of creating Art, where boundaries and text book definition of a fine artist just doesn't exist.
The Art I exhibited, consisted of Ink Art on Paperboard, Newspaper and brown box paper.
Others included, Jeans Sculpture pieces and rope Art and textile Art.
Creating Art from discarded items, is different and relevant, when it is both functional and conveys a message to the audience in its presence.
Jeans Art

It was a tricky and nervous pitch, I made to my audience.
letting them into a very personal journey of mine, on why I create
'Art the way I see it' from within me, in my purest form of interpretation, and a determination to Inspire others, to do same with their Artistic talent.
Inspiring other well established Artist.

Was indeed a tall order.
The reviews where there, the questions where genuine and the surprise was real.
The simplicity in my style of creativity and my color driven Art was called to question several times, but that is why we create Art, to shake things up a bit and in the process get noticed.

I think I achieved that!
I truly enjoyed every conversation, critiquing and ideas, that were exchanged and the support, my 'kind' of Art received in Lagos.
It was indeed a rewarding and educating Journey, and the Press releases where kind and encouraging.
                                       Talking with the press.

I was Inspired by other Artist who attended my exhibition, and Collectors who collected my work, with a huge sigh of relief and gratitude, I say thank you to all and......... Enjoy.

12 REASONS WHY WE LOVE PAINTING ABSTRACTS: ART BLOG BY MIABO ENYADIKE

What is the meaning of Abstract Art?... well the definition is relative, I will answer for myself as an Artist, who loves to work in abstracts. For me, it simply applies to Artworks, that use colors, shapes, objects, people or physical demonstration, to convey a narrative about people, places or things.

Nature's Colors' Abstract Art, Ink on paperboard by Miabo Enyadike.

It is created in a way that is not immediately understood but leaves the audience in awe and wonder,of what it is that can be explained or made out of this Art they are witnessing.

Don't we all wonder? even experienced abstract Artist, sometimes find it hard to understand the Abstract Art, of another artist well, welcome to the club.

This is, why it is an abstract! meaning existing in thoughts and ideas, devoid of any reality, in essence its all in the mind of the Artist!

So you the audience is left to 'understand Abstract Art'.
So lets try and figure out what exactly it is that tickles our fancy?

After speaking to friends, Artist alike, Art enthusiasts and normal Art loving people like you and I, It was still a bit confusing.

Anyway, I decided I love these '12 reasons' best and pardon me if you don't agree but these are some of the reasons .

1. THE AUDACITY OF THE ARTIST:
This is the creative ability, of the Artist to portray an event, story, people, nature or life in a way that is unfamiliar, to anyone except the artist.

It, always leaves us, questioning and baffled at the confidence, in which the artists tries to convey their own narrative, without consideration of the audience just their own perspective.

Without permission, or consultation but a one track mind, of their idea and belief depicted in paint, canvas and objects for us to agree or disagree, is so awesome indeed and I love that.

2.THE FRESHNESS:
Come on! who doesn't love something new and spontaneous, with a free spiritedness attached to it, in a way that is somewhat liberating......well I do.

3.THE APPEAL:

Abstract Art, is always a draw for the audience, they just want to be the ones to applaud and figure out, in an intellectual way

what the Artist, was thinking and the reason, he came up with the idea in the first place. This must resonate with every Artist who has painted an Abstract work.

4.THE MYSTERY:

This is the aspect we love about Abstract Art, the mystery that surrounds the entire Art, we are witnessing.

Sometimes, it is so breathtaking, that it leaves us in a state of 'euphoria' and in some kind of kindred spirit, with an Artist we haven't even met and may never meet......love that feeling.

5.INTRIGUE:

The way Abstract Art, arouses and excites us is something to wonder, the idea that something so meaningless, can have such power over our senses, and people are willing to pay so much money, to acquire another person perspective of life, is in itself is powerful and intriguing, to say the least just..... love that.
More power to the Artist.

6.QUESTIONS:
They say knowledge is power, sometimes if not often, Abstract Art educates the mind and draws us, out of our comfort zone into

very conflicting ideals, that make us ask real questions, about life and try to see things, the other way round from a different narrative.

7.THE THOUGHT PROCESS:

We wonder, what exactly the Artist was thinking, when they decided to create either a shocking or totally confusing Art.
Yeah, we all think that sometimes. And when we are opportuned, to ask the Artist, the answer is simple, that is the their own perspective about an issue.

That is, just the way they see things and are brave enough, to 'Show and Tell'. For me, I always say, "Art is the way I see it" from within, regardless of how it looks in front of me.

8.MESSAGE:

What message?  some would ask of an Abstract painting, they don't see any message, in it they would say!. Until it is purchased for a $110 million. Then it has a message worth noting!
As an Artist, what more can I say..... I love Abstract Art and that is my message.

9.Freedom

The freedom it provides, to create that which is your idea of something,

is worth every second, spent creating an abstract artwork.

10:THE CRITIQUES:

Wow, most dreaded and loved by the Artist. We just love, to hate the critiques but trust me they do us a favor.
Unconsciously, they put our names, out there in their critiquing.

They make us, better ourselves and search, for more meaning in our Art.
Just imagine, the first impressionist exhibition in Paris without the outrage of the critiques, maybe we would not have known Picasso...... just saying?

11.AUDIENCE:

Yes, my favorite, the audience we need them period! they are witnesses, to our creativity and supporters, of our ideas on how life should look and feel.

Holiday on my mind: Mixed media Abstract Art:  Miabo Enyadike

They are, our converts and followers, who carry our messages, if any to places that creates opportunities, for our abstract creativity to continue......love them.

12: THE ARTISTS
Last, but not the least, are all the Artist, who have dedicated their lives and talent telling, through their Art, telling this world and the people in it, that life is simply not black and white, but a complicated narrative, laced with colors, issues, diversity in creed and culture.
That, still draws from us, all the same response and emotions, expecting us to form our own opinions, but still respect and appreciate our differences.

It is easy to see all this in Abstract Art, that is why we love Abstract Art...........ENJOY.

HOW TO CREATE BLUE CHRYSANTHEMUM FLOWER . ARTBLOG BY MIABO ENYADIKE

                                               CHRYSANTHEMUM FLOWER

Old newspaper, laying around the house or piled up in the house is sometimes distressing, specially if it is turning into a nightmare.

I know once a week the paper recycling truck arrives to collect paper, but my natural hoarding instincts, refuses to let go!.

In my mind I'm thinking, I can use this pile for something I mean something, really.... really good and I ask myself  WHAT and WHEN?.

Well that time finally came, I thought about creating a series of mixed media paintings, with newspaper using acrylic paint.

CHRYSANTHEMUM FLOWER

I chose the chrysanthemum flowers as my subject, I may not be a keen gardener, I just love flowers and how they bloom and color our lives.

Besides that, my garden and that of my neighbours are filled with these chrysanthemum flowers, all popping different colors.

I love the blue because it looks out of place, amongst red, white, yellow and the greens.

HOW I MADE MY FLOWER ART.......
I created this Art by drawing the shapes of the petals on old newspaper, cutting out the drawing and gluing it to a wood board.

I proceeded to paint the flower with blue acrylic and the background wine red to give the painting some depth so the flower pops. I sealed  my art with acrylic varnish

                                                CHRYSANTHEMUM FLOWER

Now,when I see the paper recycling truck passing by my house, I smile and wave wondering what would have happened, if I had let my old newspapers go hmm.........
