SILHOUETTE OF A WOMAN ABSTRACT ART EXPRESSIONISM | MIABO ENYADIKE

I observe people, especially women and the profile of a woman is such that it reflects more of who we are than our front facial expressions. That silent twitching of the lips or subtle frown or silent smile is easy to capture in our side profile.

This Silhouette of a woman painting is no different her emotions are easy to read, though flitting her Silhouette speaks for itself.

This is an Abstract Art Expressionism, made with Ink on Smooth paperboard, the Ink is gently dropped on the paper to create depth and texture.

MODERN ABSTRACT PAINTINGS, BY MIABO ENYADIKE

MODERN ABSTRACT PAINTINGS, BY MIABO ENYADIKE

I have been away for a while and truly needed a break and some sort of holiday to clear my head and prepare my mind for my next art pursuit.

I do not know, what I would be doing next, but it's fun sometimes to just relax and reflect on what one has done in the past.

And how far, I am prepared to go further into my love for exploring new subjects in art.

Also how to juxtaposition these ideas, with my love for creating sustainable art, using recyclable materials.

ABSTRACT MODERN ART PAINTINGS OF HOUSES IN A SNOW BLIZZARD BY MIABO ENYADIKE

ABSTRACT MODERN ART PAINTINGS OF HOUSES IN A SNOW BLIZZARD BY MIABO ENYADIKE

This blog has been updated

The weather news report coming from abroad is really fascinating and one that is indeed amazing.

As we watch the cable news and see the snow blizzards, being described with terms like "cyclone bomb", "Hurricane snow winds", Snow blizzard and freezing temperatures of -17 degrees, we really wonder how people are coping and all the havoc this might be causing.

I really appreciate the fact that in Johannesburg where I live,it is summer right now with the weather in between rain and heat.

It is really strange, that we down here are witnessing these overwhelming, snowstorms everywhere through the international cable news, with the deaths involved and we are just overwhelmed, with the intense climate change that is so real.

Our hearts, are with all those who are suffering and have to endure this horrendous snowstorm or Polar vortex as it is being referred to.

These Abstract Art paintings, represent what it looks like when there is a heavy snow blizzard. When entire neighbourhoods and communities are covered in snow.

House in Snow blizzard

I know right now it's summer in Johannesburg where I reside, but somewhere it is snowing heavily, that's just the way the earth functions.

Except this particular winter season, is different and bombastic in its delivery and has left thousands if not millions, wondering what exactly is going on with the weather?

I have watched several movies about impending snow storm and people were stuck, either in their houses or on the road, but this is not a movie.

This is reality with deaths already recorded, people being rescued from their homes and freezing temperatures of below minus degrees, cars, houses and roads completely frozen and covered in snow, no movie can deliver these scenes.

This year is just beginning and people are already stuck in this huge snow falls, like never seen before around the world.

My inspiration for these paintings, comes from my fascination with nature and seasons, in relation to how it affects our lives and environment and understanding that nature is dynamic and will continue to overwhelm, us with surprises.

Nature must have it's way always.

The different seasons we experience, show the dominance and prominence nature plays in our lives, with or without our consent.

Sometimes, it just determines the look and feel of our surroundings for us, hence the subject matter of these paintings, 'Houses in a Snow Blizzard'.

It's always up to nature, to transform and occupy our lives with its presence and colour when it strikes!..............Let's stay safe everyone.

ARTIST AND GEOMETRIC SHAPES AND LINES | MIABO ENYADIKE

ARTIST AND GEOMETRIC SHAPES AND LINES.

What if geometric shapes and lines are the secret tools of the Artist? Maybe they are? just saying.......

Fine Arts begin with geometric shapes and lines. Are these shapes and lines the secret tool of the Artist? I always ask myself this question when I'm sketching down an idea for Art.

Our lives in lines: Abstract Art by Miabo Enyadike

When we see Circles, Cylinders, Torus(doughnut), Spheres, Squares, Rectangles and Triangles our minds immediately associate them with mathematics or sciences in general, but this is not so for the artist.

Rectangles and Squares: Abstract Art by Miabo Enyadike

The artist sees these, Shapes and lines as creative tools, used to create art pieces. This could be in the form of paintings, sculpting, drawing, designing and architecture.

Our lives in lines: Abstract Art by Miabo Enyadike

These geometric shapes, truly work with the artist and also shape the entire creative process of their artwork, without any formal calculations or mathematical formulas. Allow me to further explain, the use of geometric shapes in art.

Squares and Circles: Abstract Art by Miabo Enyadike

For instance, sketching a human face, neck, and shoulder is simply to draw first, a sphere which represents the human  face, then proceed to draw a cylinder which represents the neck.

Then draw straight lines, shooting out  from both sides of the bottom of the cylinder as the shoulders, before getting down to the business of putting the entire facial expressions, light and shade in order.

It is that simple, the point I am making is simply the use of Shapes and lines, is a must when attempting any creative endeavor with a pen, pencil, chisel, brush, or even cutting paper for decoupage, lines are involved in the form of shapes.

In my abstract expression of the use of lines, I pay homage to Bauhaus Style, in its simplicity yet using lines and shapes, in a way that is both commanding, intriguing and fascinating.

Our lives in lines:Abstract Art by Miabo Enyadike

This Style is seen in design, art, architecture and lifestyle in general.

Universe: Abstract Art by Miabo Enyadike

My interpretation is a bit different, though not a complete departure from the Bauhaus Style, that is still so relevant today especially in design architecture.

In this case, this is my opinion on how lines play a part in my abstract expression of  geometric lines and shapes be my guest and...... Enjoy.

ARTIST AND THEIR PERSONAL STYLE | MIABO ENYADIKE.

ARTIST AND THEIR PERSONAL STYLE | MIABO ENYADIKE.

What is Your Art Style?
The Artist, especially the fine Artist is one that communicates their raw and true emotions through their work.

Underwater Coral Reefs Series; Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

The talent that is birth through these kinds of emotions from the Artist, is the Artwork we see them create time after time, giving it relevance regardless of their personal social status.

This for me is the definition of the Art style of an Artist.

Consistency is key as well as fluidity, an ability to play with all mediums and still be recognizable is the defining factor of an Artist with their own style.

Circles of Fire; Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

This style is not a trend!  but one that is given to the Artist as a personal vision and its instructed from within, so much so that even the Artist cannot really explain, how or run away from it, but can only translate this vision into reality.

Chaos;Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard;  Miabo Enyadike

Some might call it talent, I might agree but from a deeper sense, I would call it a gift was given by our maker.
Every Artist has their own true individual style and this is true to them only.

'Silhouette of a Woman';Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard;Miabo Enyadike.

That is why even Artist, trained in higher institutions with degrees and Artist that are self-taught really don't have any distinctions between them because the talent is talent plain and simple.

This is my personal view, don't get me wrong.  Out there, it is our style and the ability to communicate events, in a way that people can identify with.

The Family; Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

While pushing boundariescreating social media awareness and consciousness that is relevant
 to our world, that matters.

'The Dress'; Abstract Art; Ink on Paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

Every other qualification becomes a bonus. I have a degree honors in Fine Applied Art since 1992, I remember how it felt like in class, I was some kind of renegade, I didn't quite 'fit in'.

I enjoyed Art classes, after all, we were left pretty much by ourselves to create Art.

'My Garden'; Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

I just was not satisfied. My lecturers didn't like the way I painted or drew objects. It just didn't look like, what my other course mates were doing.

'Lady'; Abstract Art; Ink on Paperboard; Miabo Enyadike

I did struggle a bit with the practical aspect of my course but excelled in Art history and every other theoretical aspect of my course outline.

Hence the reason after graduation, I worked in the oil servicing industry, abandoning my craft for a while.

I say this because there are gifted brilliant Artist out there, that may be in school or are self-taught Artist with a peculiar Art style that is different from others, my advice is simply don't give up, it is your God-given gift and style, own it and work it!

'I love myself'; Abstract Art;Ink on paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

In the time it would be relevant and catch the audience that it appeals too at the right time.

I say this because the reason there is an enduring appeal, for the works of  Picasso, Kandinsky, Warhol, Jasper Johns, Dieter Roth, Chagall, Frida Kahlo just to name a few of these calibre of Artist and all the 20th century Movements from Impressionism,Expressionism, cubism to Dada, that we have studied and come to respect and adore, is simply their style and consistent loyalty, adamant almost fanatical faithfulness, to their own peculiar genius.

Distance; Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard;Miabo Enyadike.

Staying true to their inner vision of how they see the world, from within their soul.
From a fresh perspective, communicating it, in a way that allows the audience to explore  and enmesh, themselves in their world with them.

The peculiar style of the Artist will always come first, in the way we tell our story and the medium  in which it is communicated is our style as Artists.

It is what we have, it is our brand message.
It is what we sell, the technique we use and how it is applied is our formula for distinction.

Flower arrangement; Abstract Art; Ink on paperboard;Miabo Enyadike

I know I can speak for myself as an Artist, it took me time to come into my own style finally staying true to my vision.

Jekyll and Hyde; Abstract Art Ink on paperboard; Miabo Enyadike.

Now for me it is not about other excellent Art or Artist out there, but to admire and be encouraged by the work done by these brilliant minds.

Whilst been grateful that I also have a vision and a dream, that can be translated into something that is tangible and appreciated, no matter the size of the audience or the platform.
