HOMELESS MAN; ART ILLUSTRATION BY MIABO ENYADIKE.

We just celebrated father's day, last Sunday and every where had signs or display, saluting fathers.

The social media, was buzzing with all of us trying to outdo each other, with greetings and out pouring of love, to all the fathers we know out there.
It was indeed wonderful and fathers felt loved.
The restaurant,we were having fathers
day lunch, was packed with families and there they were, all the fathers.

Obviously enjoying all the attention and beaming with pride, for having been recognized, at last by their families that they are in charge.

Then it struck me, right across the street sat a very disheveled man, with very tired bloodshot eyes, just staring at something that was not there.
He could not, have been staring at the cars that drove, certainly not the people who walked past and not even in the direction, of the restaurants as there were different eateries around.

He just stared straight at something, maybe just wondering what the fuss the entire day was about.
Then the questions came to mind, what went wrong with this dear man? How on earth did he get to this level? where is his family? does he have kids? if he does, where are they? the questions just went on and on.

That man, was simply the inspiration for this Ink painting, I did on newspaper.
I have been in the presence of homeless people, and it is heart wrenching, when you sit down with them and have a chat without any prior judgement or superiority and they each, have a story to tell.

Heartbreaking ones and some of the stories are so tall, you wonder how on earth they expect you to believe it.
The simple truth, is let us all stop asking questions, about how they found themselves there.

Rather what can we as  individuals,  society, a nation and the world collectively do about it.

Thank goodness, for the unrelenting journalist and media companies, out there that keep us informed of events around the world.

Indirectly telling us, that now on this earth and the times that we live in been homeless is endemic.
It is brought directly to our homes, neighborhood, countries, whether affluent or not.

Through no making of own, these horrible and rather devastating events, just creep in slowly and disrupt our lives abruptly.

These events could be Foreclosure, Finance, senseless wars, drug addiction, that rips families apart and in a twinkle of an eye are made destitute, refuges, homeless.
Nature just being nature, has it's part to play as well.

And one wonders, who is safe? no one is immune to it! Let's be grateful and thankful, but most of all stop asking questions and be our brother' keeper.
.........Enjoy.

BLENDING BOOKS AND ART IN A SPACE BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Recently, I read an article in an  interior decor magazine, about shelves making a come back.

These book shelves,I read about where really well made and looked more like Art, than shelves.

That was a delight for me.

Gone are the days when books where arranged in sturdy built, boring looking shelves that didn't add flair to a room, they were

rather intimidating and daunting just looking at them.

Books these days, are part of home decor accessories,

they are stylish to have on coffee tables, as a pile or scattered around cute shelves in a space.

They create a chic space, that says a lot about the style of the individual, inhabiting that space.

Having said that, this has inspired me to show how,

I have blended my books and Art in my own space.

I love books and I am an Artist what can I  say..........  Enjoy.

LEATHER AND PAPER MIXED MEDIA ART

Recently, I was offered a huge pile of leather cut offs by the upholstery store down the road around the area I live.

Its not that I'm a big customer, but  I am a friend of the business and their regular, leather stalker.

I keep an eagle eye on their leather scraps.

They know, that I would take whatever, I am given with gratitude and appreciation, so the stalking became legal.

When I was given, this huge pile I immediately went into creative mode in my mind.

Coming up with  craft ideas, I could use these cut offs for.

Then it occurred to me, that I could actually create art, with it.

Something different, simple but abstract.

I decided to create, sculpted newspapers as the base, to apply my leather cut offs on.

Each telling a story, that is different but are all similar, because of the leather and the colors I chose to paint them.

The inspiration for these Art comes from cows.

The fact that they add color to our lives, through fashion, food, religion, interior decoration and labour, fuels this attempt of mine to pay homage to all the Cows out there......Enjoy.

ART JEWELRY COLLECTION | BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Jewelry making is a craft I enjoy and it helps me financially too. Bead making can also serve a revenue stream and a small business that can grow into something big.

I enjoy jewelry making because it allows me to be more creative and daring.
The cool thing about making jewelry, is there are no rules,

any cool object or material could be used and that's fabulous.

Most of the jewelry, I make are beads and I make them, for the purpose of Art not really to be worn.

I enjoy mounting them, on mannequins as display and sell them as art. These beads are acrylic beads and I decided to design them as a collection.

So I share with you some of them, exhibited in a craft show...Enjoy!

The fabulous thing about rainbows, is they take our breath away.

For some of us, it is a constant reminder of the promise our Good Lord made to Noah in the bible.

Those of us, familiar with the story of the flood in the bible, that destroyed the earth, know what I mean.

I have been fascinated, by rainbows and the colours, that make them truly unique.

I have seen, several illustrations and paintings of rainbows, each unique to the artist impression of this wonder.

My own impression of a rainbow is one that is delicate, soft and ethereal.

That allows the movement of colours within it, changing as one stares deep into this wonder...... Enjoy
