Global Art Agency
The organisation behind the Rotterdam International Art Fair is the Global Art Agency, an international award-winning business that organises large-scale art events in city's such as Barcelona, Tokyo, Miami, Vienna, Amsterdam and Oxford. The concept of these events is that the selling process is directly between the exhibitor and the potential buyer, meaning the artworks can be bought commission-free, a reasonable unique concept in the art world. Furthermore they connect art with art, with their choice of venues (instead of warehouses or sterile exhibition halls) the organisation holds events in the most extraordinary venues such as the Laurens church (the only remnant of the medieval in Rotterdam), Unesco building Gaudí's Casa Batlló in Barcelona, Palace of Schönborn in Vienna, Oxford Victorian listed Oxford Town Hall, De Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam - a true magical experience!
"Our concept is to connect art with art" explains Joëlle Dinnage and Natal Vallvé directors of the Global Art Agency. "There is no better way to view contemporary art from all over the world in a special location with a huge history, complimenting the art on show."

MY PAPER INSPIRATION: ART AND CRAFT BY MIABO ENYADIKE.

While I'm preparing for two art exhibitions in two different continents the nerves have set in.

The reason is both exhibitions would be running simultaneously in Johannesburg at the  JoburgFringe 9th Art exhibition and the second edition RotterdamArtfair. in

Rotterdam.

It is exciting and scary and the only way I can calm down is craft. That is my go to area

to calm my nerves or create things that inspire me and take my mind gently back to art.

Bottles covered with old magazine paper

This time around I decided to work with Paper to create accessories and art that is appealing but inexpensive.

That would serve as both decor items and handmade gifts.

Tablet and magazine case with old newspapers

Paper can be manipulated easily, it really does not pose any challenge  just cut and paste.

I decided to drop by the craft store and pick up objects of interest I can apply my old magazine cut outs and other paper, that is inspiring to me in order to give these objects a new look and feel.

I hope you are inspired, because I am.

ART THE WAY I SEE IT! LIFE SERIES 2; ABSTRACT ART OBJECTS BY MIABO ENYADIKE

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT BY MIABO ENYADIKE

These days when I take my morning long walks an exercise I truly need, for all kinds of reasons one of being to keep an active and sound exercise regiment, the other for me to pick discarded stuff of interest along the way back home.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

I pick these objects some small and some big because I see Art on them and giving what I have accumulated a new lease of life is exciting to me.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

This kind to Art work is my true passion and one that is refreshing always to me.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

The picking of stuff, discarded is my main
motivation to walk every morning no matter the weather.

When I don't take my usual walks, it seems I missed something big that day, that could be part of my life.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

I know, I get  the strangest and odd looks here and there by motorist and other people walking, running or biking, I'm just not fazed. Instead I'm even more determined there is a need to collect these objects.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

The month of August is a windy winter month in Johannesburg and some days could really be freezing and discouraging with my fingers frozen in the cold, but I'm determined to at least look forward to seeing something that is Art to me, that's being discarded.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

I don't do much work in the month of August it is a time for me to rest, enjoy my family and take stock of all the Art I have made the first and second quarter of the year and clean out my studio space again.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Whilst taking stock and cleaning, by the way not an easy task I came across some of the discarded objects that I had transformed into Art, earlier this year and decided to blog about them and share them with you.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

To create these 'objects of Art', I used old disused wood, acrylic paint, spray paint and glue to transform these objects into Art.

I term this Art the 'Life' series because it has to do with my life passion, to transform the discarded item to some sort of Art.

LIFE; ABSTRACT OBJECT SERIES BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Also to create a sense of wonder in our minds about the things we acquire and discard, what part they may play in someone
else's life.

I love what I have made out of these finds,I hope you can be inspired by them...Enjoy!
