MY ABSTRACT PAINTINGS OF THE AFRICAN WOMAN BY MIABO ENYADIKE

What can I say, about how colourful the woman of Africa is, when it comes to traditional dresses or national attires.

The intricate colours, integrated into the fabric is so beautiful and deeply fascinating.

Every tribe, community, village, country in this continent can boast of its own traditional colours, that sets them apart from the other.
As  an African woman the colours in our fabrics, are our heritage and one we hold truly dear.

As an Artist, I have painted silhouettes of women covered in colourful fabrics, eliminating from the paintings any physical features.

My aim is to represent the fabrics, in there true form because for us its not the Style, Shape or Form its about the heritage and tradition....ENJOY.

WORKING WITH INK, I GET TO DREAM (ABSTRACT ART) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Working with Ink I truly get to dream, it encourages me to create art without interfering with my actual vision.

      MY EARLY MORNING SKY

In fact it lets my imagination, flow and that's good.

             MY HOUSE

Ink creates for me on paper a world of mine and helps me depict the true picture of how I see people, nature, objects, hopes and aspirations.

         MY FLOWER GARDEN

It gives me an entrance into a world that is colourful, serene, child like, fun and simple.

         MY GREEN VEGETATION(OUTDOORS)

WOW! don't we all need that, I do for one and my Ink paintings create that Peter Pan world that

         MY EVENING SUNSET

exist inside us all, where we hope against hope that this life with all its drama is but a dream.......ENJOY.

PIECES OF FABRIC INTO ART (ART AND CRAFT) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Fabric is an item that we all have because we don't only wear it,it is used in every aspect of our lives.

They wear off and sometimes we are stuck with them, as it turns out, we can turn them into little art pieces that can be enjoyed by us and our kids.

Here are some of my fabric remnant turned into art and craft,I used old jeans fabric because of the texture,

glued it to canvas and applied texture paste on them in order to create a worn out look and feel.

Since my objective, was children when creating these craft, I decided to apply flourescent acrylic paint,

that is bright and glows in the dark to create some sort of excitement for them.

I DO THIS FOR LOVE (ABSTRACT ART) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Being in my art studio lately is less enthusiastic and work is so slow and almost like a burden, which should  not be because art is my life.

                             PLANTS

After a lenghty discussion with myself, it turned out that the news reports I listen to, laced with doom and gloom and all the horrible narratives, about issues around the world, leaves me feeling empty and weary. This certainly was one of the factors.

         FASHION

The other is artist block meaning (no forthcoming meaningful creative process). This year has been one that I have been in my studio, day in day out creating art and working relentlessly, maybe I have milked myself dry, I thought and then it hit me, that my studio needed a cheerful and child like ambiance.

          KIDS

Which meant bright colours and a playful workspace to keep my focus on the task ahead, shutting out these unpredictable events happening .This led me to sit down and channel my inner child with child like colours, and drawings to create art that reminded me,of all the things I love and why I do this. The answer was right in front of me.

MY INNER FASHION SENSE (ART ILLUSTRATION) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Fashion for most of us is serious, and any retail therapy around fashion is welcomed, with so much delight and enthusiasm.

For me apart from the shopping aspect of fashion, I look forward to all things fashion, as a way of life.

It is truly a lifestyle.

That which inspires me always, to enjoy my thoughts on fashion and create illustrations, of dresses and shoes, is the constant change in trends and the buzz.

I love new trends and I'm always out, on the lookout for both vintage and current fashion.

I love, visiting vintage fashion stores and and current fashion boutiques.

They are quite inspiring, you get a sense of two worlds apart, that represent the same thing, fashion!

These visits, to the stores inspires me, to indulge myself in fashion illustrations, just for the sheer fun and delight of it.

These as you can see, are some of those fashion inner thoughts of mine, come to life.

These illustrations, were created using Ink on paperboard,to give the fashion collection,a look of fantasy.

revealing the thought of someone truly dreaming.........

What are your fashion thoughts?  paint it, draw it, say it, write it down, whatever just enjoy it.

                 sketches of fashion ideas.

Have fun and enjoy your next shopping spree.

COLOURS I LOVE (TIE/ DYE ON USED PAPER PRESENTATION BOARDS UPCYCLE AND ABSTRACT ART) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Colours! Colours! Colours, I love colours! growing up as a kid, was when I had my first Tie/dye outfit handed to me.

I remember the dress just like yesterday, a simple magenta and violet coloured dress, with strings made for me by my mum.

Since my childhood days the tie/dye design on fabric has evolved, very beautiful and intricate designs are out there.

These days we see these tie/dye art form, being  transformed  into fabulous clothing items, as well as being applied on objects, creating some sort of Art.

I chose the latter and that's applying my tie/dye interpretation on used and distressed AO presentation paper boards.

These boards, where given to me by a friend who was clearing and renovating her office building.
She knew, I would love them and that meant a lot to me.

I was thankful because they could have been crushed and discarded but she thought of me instead!.

I didn't want to let her down went to work on my distressed gift and enjoyed the entire creative process of tie/dye on boards................Enjoy.
