CRAFT STAMPS I LOVE (ABSTRACT ART) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

This is a first for me using craft rubber stamp as a background for abstract art paintings.

                                                                                                                                                        POSTAGE

It really was an idea I had toyed with for a while and I finally decided to give it a go.

                               WALKING TOGETHER

To create the background, of some of these paintings, I used  guipure lace trim and the sole of a trainer shoe as my craft stamp.

                                RAYS OF LIGHT

Then I used ready made stamps also for some of the paintings.

FRANTIC

Balancing the stamp and the art work to give a cohesive collaboration,

DIAMOND

was truly exciting and opened my eyes to the huge potential craft stamps have on all media. ENJOY!

TRIBAL ART SYMBOLS (FOLK ART, ACRYLIC ON BOARD) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

                   CIRCLES, LINES, DOTS

From the Cape (South Africa) to Cairo (Egypt) I mean the entire Africa, there are traditional symbols that indicate a previous culture or people.

DOTS AND RECTANGLES

Some of these symbols can be interpreted to mean something significant, while some are mere decorative symbols, that are still in use today for traditional ceremonies or decorative purposes.

DOTS, TRIANGLE, RECTANGLES

I have seen quite a lot of them in use as geometric designs, in African art and extended into International art as well.

                                      TRIANGLES AND DOTS

I love these symbols and have used them for a lot of my creative endeavours and these are some of them ENJOY.

GEOMETRIC SHAPES, THE SECRET TOOL OF THE ARTIST ( ABSTRACT ART ) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

When we see Circles, Cylinders, Torus(doughnut), Spheres, Squares, Rectangles and Triangles, our minds immediately associate them with mathematics or sciences in general, but this is not so for the artist. The artist sees these, lines as creative tools, used to create art pieces. This could be in the form of paintings, sculpting, drawing, designing and architecture.

RECTANGLES AND SQUARES

These geometric shapes, truly work with the artist and also shape the entire creative process of the art work, without any formal calculations or mathematical formula's. Allow me to further explain, the use of geometric shapes in art.

SQUARES, SHPERES AND CIRCLES

For instance sketching a human face, neck and shoulder is simply to draw first, a sphere which represents the human  face, then proceed to draw a cylinder which represents the neck.

   CIRCLES

Then draw straight lines, shooting out  from both sides of the bottom of the cylinder as the shoulders, before getting down to the business of putting the entire facial expressions, light and shade in order.

    TRIANGLES

It is that simple, the point I am making is simply the use of  lines, is a must when attempting any creative endeavour with a pen, pencil, chisel, brush,or even cutting paper for decoupage, lines are involved in the form of shapes.

 CIRCLES

In my abstract expression of the use of lines, I pay homage to Bauhaus Style, in its simplicity yet using lines and shapes, in a way that is both commanding, intriguing and fascinating. This Style is seen in design, art, architecture and lifestyle in general.

                                                   CIRCLES

My interpretation is a bit different, though not a complete departure from the Bauhaus Style, that is still so relevant today especially in design architecture. In this case, I leave you to be the judge of my own abstract expression, of  geometric lines and shapes be my guest and...... Enjoy.

SHADES OF COLORS AND LINES (ABSTRACT ART) BY MIABO ENYADIKE

Imagine life without colour, I have tried too, but I have found it so impossible to envisage. The simple reason, is every where we turn there are colours, tones, hues and lines in such harmony.

COLOURS AND LINES, GREEN AND RED

That was the root, for this series I have just painted.

 COLOURS, RAINBOW 1

The title is colours and lines, in which I decided to explore the use of  colours, creating tones and shades, using bold curvy lines to emphasis a synergy between  the two.

 COLOURS AND LINES, PURPLE, MAGENTA

This series is one I thoroughly enjoyed creating, with the use of Ink, on gloss paper boards, drawing lines with geometric rulers create structured geometric
lines on the paintings.

                                        COLOURS, RAINBOW 2

The outcome of this combination, of simple geometric lines and subtle use of colour's, is abstract expressionism.

COLOURS AND LINES,BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW

It  turned out fantastic, easy on the eyes, yet abstract in every sense.

 COLOURS AND LINES, BLACK, RED

I hope you will enjoy, viewing them the way I enjoyed making them........  ENJOY!
